Lime Grove, Royton was inspected in November 2021 as part of Labour’s policy to identify priority residential roads for repair. It was agreed the road was a priority and would be repaired as soon as possible. The work will be funded by an underspend in the capital programme and detailed design work is being done. The works were put out to tender before 19th January 2021 and the report in the Oldham Times.

Councillor Hannah Roberts said ‘It is good to see that the new arrangements put in place to inspect and identify work needed on residential roads have been effective. Action has been taken to deal with the poor condition of the road and work will take place as soon as possible. If Councillor Arnott had bothered to ask, he could have informed residents of the plans. Rather than grandstanding in the local press, I also reported the potholes to the Council for repair’.

Councillor Phythian added ‘We are always happy to report potholes and other road repairs on behalf of residents. We have successfully pushed for resurfacing on residential roads in Royton North – most recently on the Oozewood estate. It is also easy to report potholes directly on the Council’s web site’.
