Saddleworth and Lees Labour Party are excited to announce that on Saturday 9th July between 12 and 2pm we will be holding our Tea for Trussell event at the Satellite Centre, Wellington Rd, Greenfield OL3 7AL. All are welcome! We all know that some of the best conversations happen over brew – which is why we are holding our very own Tea for Trussell, supporting the Trussell Trust and their network of food banks. A cup of tea is at the heart of their food bank network. The warm welcome of a cuppa has the power to spark conversation and offer support to people coming into the food bank, while helping to uncover and address the underlying issues of why someone needs their support. However, in a country as rich as ours It’s not right that any of us need to use a food bank but we know that this can change. That’s why we’re urging everyone to come along to this event, have a great time and help us raise money to help food banks provide emergency support to people in crisis, while campaigning for a future where no one needs to turn to charity to get by. Hot and cold drinks, cake and biscuits will be available for a recommended donation of at least £2.50 a person. We are also planning a raffle, book sale and plant sale to raise as much money as possible. There may be some surprise activities on the day. We will accept food donations for the Oldham Foodbank. Donations of refreshments, raffle prizes, books (in good condition) or plants and offers to help on the day welcome If you can’t come along but would like to support the Trussell Trust our fundraising page is here: https://trusselltrust.enthuse.com/pf/hannah-roberts-cf484 For further details please contact Hannah Roberts: hulme.roberts@btinternet.com or see our Facebook page @saddleworthandleesbranchlabourparty We look forward to seeing you there – thank you so much for your support!
