Oldham Labour are about stepping up and being ambitious for the borough.
We’re unapologetic about bringing in businesses, jobs and wealth, but we’re also fighting at every step to ensure those jobs are well paid and secure. The council is a living wage employer, and recruits residents wherever possible. Council-run organisations are also amongst the first to sign up the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter.
From Failsworth to Saddleworth, Oldham is a place we can be proud to call home. And it’s for all of us.
We celebrate our cultures, and we do it together.
Others might be ok with taking money out, saying “us first”, but that’s not what makes our community great. Labour are investing in road improvements and street cleaners and improving council support for residents right across the borough – it’s the right thing to do.
We can’t shy away from tough choices, whether that’s on the cuts we’re forced to make, or the location of much-needed new homes.
Oldham Labour refuse to hold our borough back.
We’re building our education system up, so every school is good or outstanding, we’re creating new opportunities for young people to gain skills and confidence and play their full role in our society, and we’re delivering homes so that Oldham is a place they can choose to stay in as they get older.
We’re fighting for residents, taking on rogue landlords and rip-off bus companies.
Not standing back, not ducking responsibility. Oldham’s Labour Council is an advocate for residents, a safety-net and the base from which our community can build.
