Cllr Shaid Mushtaq was first elected in 2014 when he successfully contested the Alexandra Ward in Oldham.

Shaid has been a cabinet member since 2018 and currently holds the Corporate Services portfolio.

Cllr Mushtaq is married with a son and takes a keen interest in football, coaching his son’s football team, Springhead AFC, who play in the East Manchester Junior Football League. He plays football locally, enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with immediate and extended family and friends.

He is currently a governor at Oldham College and is a member of the Greater Manchester Independent Ethics Committee. He is also a member of the MAHDLO Youth Zone board.
