Oldham’s Histories Festival and Heritage Open Days will be launching on 9th September, starting a month of more than 50 events celebrating the amazing history of our area.
Cllr Sean Fielding said:
“For the 15th year running our heritage service has organised an excellent free programme of events which gives visitors the chance to get see a glimpse of buildings or areas not usually open to the public.
“Oldham is steeped in history and has been home to some extraordinary people. This is a chance for residents to find out more about history in their local area and the buildings around them.”
“We have some wonderful buildings in Oldham, including a number of lesser known ones. I would urge residents to take advantage of this once a year opportunity and get involved in some unique and interesting activities throughout the month of September.”
