The snappily named Royton Business Improvement Grant Scheme is now open for applications. Royton’s Labour Councillors have put together a fund using District money to support local businesses in improving the look of their premises (which will also make Royton look even smarter).

Independent businesses on Middleton Road or Rochdale Road (see map) can apply for a grant of up to £3,000 to do up their shop front – this needs to be match funded (the Council will pay for half of the total invested). The scheme was launched at the Town Hall on the 18th September and applications must be received by the end of December.
