At planning committee on 22nd September, plans were approved for a new business park in Hollinwood that will create an estimated 700 new jobs. In further good news for the borough, councillors approved three residential sites that will create nearly 100 homes around the borough. These sites include 68 homes on brownfield land near Hartford Mill (of which 36 will be affordable), 13 new one and two-bed apartments in Oldham town centre at Kings Hall Plaza on King Street (along with space for one or two new restaurants), and ten new homes on brownfield land in Chew Valley Lane, Greenfield.

The developments represent an important moment of progress for the borough, as we continue to seek every opportunity to develop homes on brownfield land, thereby reducing pressure to build on greenbelt. In addition, the business park site at Hollinwood demonstrates the confidence investors have in the borough’s economic future, and will provided welcome jobs for residents.
