Meg Birchall
Labour Candidate for Shaw
I want to be a Labour Councillor, knowing the difference we can make to the thousands of people in Shaw who have struggled under the impact of this Tory Government. I have experience campaigning for the council, serving as chair of Oldham Youth Council and I am Youth Officer for Oldham East & Saddleworth Labour Party.
I want to use my experience to support young residents of Shaw and help bring amenities to Shaw for young people. I will aim to improve access to health services in Shaw, focusing on bringing the new Health Centre to Shaw.
As someone who has grown up in poor housing, I understand how crucial it is for our residents that we deliver affordable housing and services to the highest standards. I will ensure that we speak to every Labour voter Shaw to maximise our vote and ensure we retain Oldham Council again in May and ensure we have a Labour Councillor in Shaw for the first time in many years. It is important that we campaign against the politics of the Independents.
